In today’s world, information security is more important than ever. HIPAA, Fair and Accurate Credit Transition Act and Sarbanes-Oxley and other laws and regulations hold businesses to a new standard of security when it comes to how they handle sensitive information. Document shredding can be a cost-effective way for private businesses and public agencies alike to ensure they are in compliance with the law. It’s also environmentally friendly – when it’s done right.

ShredX helps our customers in both their efforts to maintain compliance with all laws are regulatory requirements as well as to be good stewards of the environment.

All ShredX bins and consoles can be exchanged on a predetermined schedule for ongoing shredding needs or scheduled for one time contracted pick-ups.

Chain of Custody

To ensure confidentiality of your data, ShredX provides you with bins and consoles that remain locked at your facility and can only be opened by our security specialists or your designated staff member. We also have a strict chain-of-custody for both on-site and off-site services, which is stringently followed for each and every transaction.

On-site

For Consoles: Our security specialist comes to your site and unlocks your console, emptying the bag into one of our locked, rolling containers. The materials are then secured with a lock and rolled out to the truck.

For Bins:  The locked container is rolled out to the truck. Once the container is at the truck, it is unlocked and loaded onto the tipper. The tipper raises the bin inside the truck and dumps the materials into the shredder. At no point does our security specialist have to physically move the papers into the shredder.

Off-site

Our security specialist comes to your site and unlocks your console, emptying the bag into one of our locked, rolling containers. If you have a locked shredding bin instead of a console, our security specialist picks up the locked bin. The locked bin is then loaded onto one of our off-site trucks and the truck itself is then locked. The bins are brought back to our facility where they are kept secure until they are ready to be destroyed within 24 hours of receiving the materials. When the materials are ready to be destroyed, the bins are unlocked by a bonded supervisor and loaded immediately into the shredder. From the moment the consoles are emptied, the bins are kept securely locked at all times.

E-Scrap

Have you ever wondered what happens to your computers and electronics after you don’t need them anymore? More often than not, they sit in landfills leaching hazardous chemicals into the atmosphere and soil. Sensitive data that was stored on such devices may also still be accessible and can fall into anyone’s hands.

Recycling your electronics is the safer, more eco-friendly alternative. Computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, laptops, mainframes, modems, hard drives, floppy drives, cellular and land line phones and all connecting wires and cables, printers and small copy machines can be recycled.

  • E-Scrap, a division of Rentacrate, is at the forefront of the industry when it comes to certified electronic recycling, providing state-of-the-art solutions for businesses.
  • E-Scrap delivers and picks up bins for you to fill with all your materials, which will be recycled off-site.
  • All components are disassembled by hand and completely stripped down to each and every reclaimable material. This method provides superior recycling efficiencies to that of incinerating.
  • Hard drives and memory chips are physically cut into pieces, making it impossible to recover any data. They are also never resold or recirculated, which ensures the security of your data. Plus, all materials are handled in a legal and environmentally correct manner.
  • A certificate of electronic recycling is provided for each load, which is your legal proof of safe disposal.
  • With convenient As-You-Need-It™ service, deliveries and pick-ups are daily, weekly, monthly or as you require.
